Què són les cookies i per a què s’utilitzen

La paraula “cookies” (‘galetes’) és el terme anglès que s’utilitza per denominar els petits fitxers de text que es descarreguen al navegador de l’equip (ordinador, telèfon mòbil, tauleta, etc.) d’un usuari en navegar en un lloc web, aplicació o plataforma informàtica.

Les cookies aporten grans avantatges en la prestació de serveis de la societat de la informació, ja que faciliten i agiliten la navegació per Internet, i també ens ajuden a millorar la qualitat dels serveis que oferim als nostres usuaris. Segons l’entitat que les gestiona:

What are cookies and what are they used for?

The word “cookies” refers to small text files that a user's web browser device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.) downloads when browsing a website, application or IT platform.

Cookies contribute important benefits in the provision of information society services, as they facilitate and streamline internet browsing, and also assist us in improving the quality of the services we offer our users. Among other functions, cookies allow information to be stored and recovered regarding the browsing habits of the user or their device, something that helps us know which pages or features of a website, application or platform are more or less useful to users so that we can improve them and, according to the information they contain and how the device uses it, they can also be employed to recognize the user.
