		Variació de la radiació rebuda en funció de l'alçada sobre el nivell del mar En el gràfic s'observa l'increment de la radiació dins d'un avió a l'alçada d'un vol comercial. Les dades son en brut, en comptes per minut (partícules detectades per minut). Les dades les vaig obtenir a bord d'un avió amb un detector de radiació, i les partícules que travessen el fusselatge són les que són mesurades. Això permet fer una idea de com estem exposats a la radiació còsmica tan aviat abaadonem la protecció de l'atmosfera. Received radiation depending on the altitude above the sea level The graphic shows the increasing level of radiation inside a plane at the altitude of a commercial flight. The level of radiation is shown in raw data,in counts per minute (the number of detected particles every minute). I obtained thse data on board a plane using a radiation detector, and the detected particles cross the fuselage. From this observation we can obtain a rough idea about the radiation that we receive when we loss the protection of the atmosphere.
		Construcció d'un detector RPC (Resistive Plate Chamber) per la detecció de muons procedents dels rajos còsmics Fa un temps vaig començar l'experiment de construir un detector de rajos còsmics basat en la detecció de la cascada de muons que es produeixen en la seva entrada a l'atmosfera. De les opcions disponibles vaig optar per un detector RPC en lloc d'utilitzar un escintilador, que és el que habitualment es construeix a nivell didàctic o amateur vaig optar per un sistema més complex però teòricament a l'abast, doncs la finalitat és la construcció d'un telescopi de rajos còsmics. Pràcticament tots els sistemes que existeixen son grans aparells destinats als grans experiments de partícules i res en el camp amateur. En els primers intents sembla que el sistema detectava alguna cosa que podrien ser muons. Ara el sistema està en procés de millora i de trobar un detector definitiu. ENLLAÇ Making a RPC (Resistive Plate Chamber) to detect muons originated by the cosmic rays Some time ago I started the experiment of making a cosmic rays detector based on the detection of tha cascade of muons produced when the rays interacts with the terrestrial atmosphere. Among the diverse options I choosen the use of a RPC (Resistive Plate Chamber) when the usual detector in educational o amateur enviroments is an scintillator, but the last goal is to make a ray cosmic telescope. The usual RPC systems are employed in big particle detectors or big cosmic ray detectors, but I did not find an amateur detector. The first trials seemed to detect something compatible with the muons. Now I am revising the whole system to make up an final detector. In the link I explain the construction procedure. LINK
